It’s Specialists Week at Testudo Times, and we’re winding down our summer series of polls aimed at assembling the all-time Maryland team. After looking at the kickers yesterday, we’ve got almost all the spots filled, but it’s not over quite yet.
Here are our punter nominees for your vote:
Brooks Barnard
A four-year starter at Maryland, Barnard holds the school record with a 43.7 yards-per-punt average for his career. He also has the two highest-average seasons in school history, with 45.7 and 45.5 yards a pop in 2000 and 2001, respectively; he was named First Team All-ACC in both of those seasons. Barnard punted in one game for the New England Patriots before spending the bulk of his pro career in Europe.
Adam Podlesh
After Barnard graduated, Podlesh stepped in right away and started for the next four years. His 42.
