In the Aggies’ Spring Game junior college transfer and former Kansas Jayhawk Jace Sternberger was hyper-productive for the Maroon team, hauling in eight catches for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On top of that performance, tight end Ryan Renick caught a four-yard touchdown pass.
Back in February, 247 Sports’ Jeff Tarpley wrote an article about the importance of tight ends and fullbacks in Jimbo Fisher’s offensive system. That same dude, Jeff, got this football quote from Jace:
“It’s all about matchups. The reason I love tight end is because they (linebackers) have so much to worry about with the run game. They don’t know how it’s going to go. You can lull them to sleep until it (a pass route) happens”.
