Fall is probably my favorite time of year. All the best college sports have begun or are on the verge of beginning. For UK’s Swimming and Diving Teams, the season begins in a few short weeks with the Sun Shall Shine Intrasquad meet on September 29. That meet will begin a season that has high expectations for the women’s side.
Coming off a season that finished with the Wildcats taking 14th place at the Women’s National Championship, the women’s team reloaded and returned with most of their stars from last season. UK has three top backstrokers returning from last season in Ali Galyer, Asia Seidt, and Bridgette Alexander. Seidt and Alexander, by virtue of their participation at the World University Games in July, earned spots on the 2017-2018 US National Team, along with Head Coach Lars Jorgensen and assistant coach Allison Reed.
