Tyler Higbee Admits That He Was Guilty To Assault
Back When the Rams drafted Tyler Higbee, they knew he was facing assault charges against a Saudi National man. Higbee assured the Rams that he acted in self defense, however it seems that he changed his mind because he entered a guilty plea. He has admitted to beating a man, causing the man to have a concussion and have his brain bleed as well. There are reports that Higbee also shouted racial slurs towards the man. However, Higbee’s attorney claims that there was another man shouting the slurs. Higbee will not receive any jail time but will have to pay restitution to the man he assaulted. He must also complete 250 hours of community service and stay drug and alcohol free, or possess any firearms.
Will Tyler Higbee Face Discipline From The NFL?
Odds are that Higbee will not be suspended by the NFL since he was not an NFL player at the time of the incident. This is good news for the Rams because they cant afford to lose another receiver. The Rams also found out today receiver Mike Thomas was suspended for four games for violating the performance enhancing policy. Higbee played in all 16 games last year for the Rams and recorded 11 catches for 85 yards with 1 touchdown. Higbee is sure to be a key component in the passing game with Sean McVay’s offense this season. Last season in Washington, a major contributor to McVay’s offense was tight end Jordan Reed. Look for Higbee to battle for a starting tight end position this season and take on the role Reed had in Washington.
