On Monday night, NFL Network revealed No.’s 70-61 on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017 show. Coming in at No. 61 was Indianapolis Colts wide receiver TY Hilton.
Hilton had a career year in 2016, pulling in 91 receptions for 1,448 yards (15.9 avg) and 6 touchdowns. He led the entire league in yards and 20+ yard plays (28). Hilton was among the top 10 in receptions, targets (156) and receiving first downs (66). He had six 100-yard games, and two others with at least 95.
Hilton made his third straight Pro Bowl. He led the AFC side in their victory, pulling in 5 receptions (8 targets) for 58 yards. This is Hilton’s second appearance on the NFL Top 100 (2015).
In 2017, Hilton looks to lead a young, up-and-coming receiving corps. Though he is only 27 years old, players like Donte Moncrief, Phillip Dorsett, Chester Rogers and Quan Bray look up to Hilton to lead them on the field.
Hilton is the first Colt to make this year’s Top 100 list.
61 seems awfully low for a player who led the entire league in a major statistical category. Hilton’s 1,448 yards weren’t just a flash in the pan, either. He has surpassed 1,000 yards each of the last four seasons, and 1,300+ yards in two of the last three years.
