Albany native and former five star DT Trenton Thompson has apparently had a change of heart. Back in early December, the big man affectionately known as Jolly indicated he was returning for his senior season as part of an extremely talented and deep group along the Bulldog defensive front. But with the dream of the NFL calling, and first round talent in that 6’4, 300 or so pound frame, #78 is taking his talents to the next level.
“After long discussion with my family and coaches I have decided to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. I would like to thank my family, teammates, Coach Smart and the rest of the staff for all of their support the last 3 years. Coming to Athens was the best decision of my life and the memories and friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime. Playing in the NFL has been a lifelong dream of mine and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
