Hello-

Is it way too early to do a mock draft? Probably; We are almost half way through the NFL season so we are starting to get a sense of where teams will fall in the draft order. This is my first attempt at one this year. All feedback is welcome! Enjoy!

I think Lewan makes a lot of sense for the Titans. They have already invested heavily in their OLINE but Michael Roos has one year remaining on his deal so long term this makes a lot of sense. I could see cornerback and defensive end as positins they look at as well so keep an eye on players like Trent Murphy (Stanford), Ifo Ekpre Olumu (Oregon), and Aaron Lynch (South Florida)

No way Tampa Bay takes a QB

No way Minnesota takes a QB (unless Freeman truly is done)

NO WAY 3 QBs go in the top 5.  Outside of Bridgewater no QBs are 1st rounders.  Teams wanting a QB will either trade down or trade up into the bottom of the 1st round

*Why wouldn't Tampa consider taking a quarterback? Mike Glennon was a 3rd round selection and has severe limitations. in fact I am not so sure their head coach is back if things continue they way they are now. This team was supposed to be a playoff team.

*The Vikings will surely look at a quarterback. Josh Freeman is in the final year of a contract and has done little to warrant a big contract extension.

*Teddy Bridgewater is a great prospect but to say he is the only potential top five selection at the position is just wrong. It is a QB driven league and many teams have a major need at the position. For my money Marcus Mariota from Oregon is the best quarterback in the draft.

Also Tajh Boyd (Clemson), Johnny Manziel (TAMU), Zach Mettenberger (LSU), and Brett Hundley (UCLA) definitely have a chance to be first round selections. When you look at the landscape of the NFL it is safe to say that teams such as the Texans, Browns, Jaguars, Raiders, Vikings, Cardinals, Buccaneers, and even possibly the Rams have a need at the quarterback position. To think five quarterbacks go in round one is a fair assumption. I'd bet my favorite sweater that Bridgewater, Mariota, Hundley, and Manziel go in round one.

Cornerback will be considered in the 1st round if Verner is not resigned. But even when the Titans have needed a corner, they haven't taken them in an early round.

But I would be very interested in a new defensive end.

And if Lewan isn't meant for LT, he could possibly replace David Stewart at RT. Both Roos and Stewart are over 30, so one or both will be replaced in the coming years.

- I stated I don't believe they're 1st round talents

- I stated they wouldn't go in the top 5.  Maybe they do go in the 1st round.

- Just because the league is QB driven doesn't mean teams are going to just take any QB out of college.  The play of the 2013 rookie QBs will temper all the excitement generated by the play of the 2012 rookie QBs.

The 2014 QB Class has a chance to be as good as the 2012 class. Marcus Mariota, Teddy Bridgewater, Brett Hundley, Johnny Manziel, Tajh Boyd, and Zach Mettenberger aren't just any QB's. None of them are at an Andrew Luck level but as a group they are very impressive.

I don't know how one can watch Marcus Mariota and now be overly impressed. He is an extremely accurate passer, has a strong arm, throws a very catchable ball, has great mobility, is lethal with the ball in his hands, and has an unparalleled ability to throw on the run. Speaking of running he might be the best running quarterback in the league as a pure rookie. Marcus Mariota is the REAL DEAL.

Do the names Gabbert, Ponder and Locker mean anything to you? They all went in the top 12 despite not really being rated that high. Scouts are talking about this being one of the best QB classes in a long time. There are as many as 9-10 guys being talked about as possible 1st round guys. I'd be surprised if their were less than 3 taken in the top 10 and less than 4-5 in the first round.

I won't pretend that I know enough about the players to comment.  Something like this is a huge undertaking and really makes you know your stuff.

That being said, I really don't think the Eagles go DE this year in the first round.  They're sorely lacking in the Safety department and have been since Dawkins left.  Tuitt isn't a bad pick, just don't think it fits the needs :)

For what its worth, this will be a great draft class for QBs but I think a good chunk of those 1st rounders are going to fall to the 2nd.  Supply vs Demand kinda thing.  Demand is limited to a few teams and supply his high... Lets say the Vikings end up liking Freeman..they probably wait a round or 2 before getting another QB.  What about the Texans, I could easily see them waiting a round or 2 for a QB.

That being said, again admittedly not a draft expert... just don't think it's the bestidea for that many teams to go QB in round 1.

As things stand now the Raiders go O-Line before any other position.

The Raiders draft may be hard to predict this early.  With as much cap space as they have they should be VERY active in free agency.  Their needs will change month-to-month.

I do not see the Raiders going OLINE in the first three rounds to be honest. They drafted Manelik Watson high last year and have Stefen Wisniewski and Jared Veldheer on their roster currently. The Raiders are in tremendous cap shape and should certainly lock up Veldheer long term. The positions I think the Raiders need to focus are Defensive End, Running Back, Wide Receiver, and Cornerback.

The Kansas City Chiefs won't have a second round pick this because of the Alex Smith trade, because if they win at least 8 games then they lose their second round pick.

McKenzie doens't shell out bucks to FA's, but he does keep key players and supplements depth in FA. Raider definitely need to address their depth across the board, but their overall talent on the O-line is good. Sleeper need early is a RB

I don't feel like this is true at all.... Have you already forgotten Andre Woolfolk (2003), Pacman Jones (2005), and Michael Griffin (2007). And for clarifications sake, they tried Griffin at CB his first year.

The Titans do like to go defensive back earlier as jhutch pointed out. It is tough to mock at this point because whether players such as Marcus Mariota, Brett Hundley, etc. declare change everything. This will change 10 times before the actual draft. I will make another 7th rounder in the next couple of weeks....

I could maybe see 1 CB but we're pretty deep there unless Champ retires or gets cut which i could see happen actually, he makes too much and have a lot of key guys up for new deals.

Honestly havent paid too much attention too CFB this year, Murphy is a guy i've heard about. Not sure about a CB in Round 2 though.

Probably depends which players we can keep and cant after DE which is the top need, G would be the 2nd biggest need imo.
