John Clayton is suggesting that the Dolphins are interested in trading for Packers WR James Jones. I don't think there's much to this personally, I figure its just a good guess. But, may not be a bad idea. Jones is slipping on the depth chart with the Packers, and the Dolphins staff knows Jones well (and is stockpiling on draft picks).

Yeah, everyone would pretty clearly gain from this. Sad that he'd probably walk in as the number one right away.

I always thought Jones was pretty good, but being the 5th option in most cases wont get you far

Cobb could play the slot so Jones becomes expendable. The sad thing for the Fins is that JJ would become the #1 by default.

Wasn't he always in Philbin's doghouse?

I really can't see this happening. Makes a lot of sense in terms of need and potential, but is James Jones really ever destined to be a #1? I doubt it, and Philbin already knows this.

Pretty much anyone the phins bring in right now is probably going to be the number 1 receiver. This would be a decent trade all around, they absolutely need to get some help for Tannehill. There is no way he can carry that team himself
