If Barber doesn't screw up like an idiot and if Prater doesn't hit a fucking 59+ yard field goal, Tebow wouldn't be a "winner." He's pretty terrible. I wouldn't even want him as a #3 QB.
You act like A. that was the only game he came back in and B. he didn't move the ball down field to get them in scoring position.
He threw for 300+ yards and a game winning touchdown in a playoff game against the #1 defense in the NFL in his first year as a starting quarterback. Broncos were 1-4 before he started. Jets ruined his career.

No, I act like...
A. If Prater doesn't make that 59+ yarder, they lose the game and they miss the playoffs
B. If Barber doesn't be an idiot, they lose the game and they miss the playoffs

Or how about:
A. Prater was hitting from nearly 70 in pre-game, so once they got into range of a 60 yard field goal, they played extremely conservative and ran the ball/checked down to avoid a turnover.
B. If Tebow starts the first 5 games, they in all likelihood win more than just 1, considering Orton turned over the ball 9 times in 4.5 games.
C. Hell, if they put Tebow in earlier in the Chargers game, they probably win that one considering how Tebow nearly brought them back from down 16 in the 4th.

Tebow deserves a chance. The only chance he had, he brought the Broncos from 1-4 to the playoffs. Jets screwed him over, and I hope he gets another opportunity within their division to beat the hell out of them. (likely won't happen, unless he goes to Buffalo) I would have requested to be released/traded long ago.

The Broncos also lost three straight games and backed into the playoffs. Tebow completed 46.5% of his passes, which was the worst in the NFL last year among starting QBs. He's not an NFL quarterback. He can help a team that wants to use him in a wildcat type of offense, but the Jets aren't doing that. They maybe use him three times a game, if that. He is a good football player, but he's not a good quarterback.

Josh Freeman threw 18 interceptions to 10 touchdowns his first year starting and completed 54% of passes. Are you saying that the Bucs should have conceded Freeman isn't an NFL quarterback by now or that getting to develop as a quarterback is only allowed if you aren't Tebow?

Yeah, but Freeman showed more promise as a passer than Tebow. Tebow averaged 157 yards a game last season and had six games where he completed 10 or less passes. At least Freeman threw the ball and was able to show something as a passer.

And you don't think that had anything to do with the playcalling at all? Mike McCoy was having them run McGahee 1st-3rd down every single drive until they were down in the 4th quarter. In the 4th, Tebow made plays through the air to start/complete comebacks.

It was due to the playcalling. The Broncos management knew Tebow wasn't a competent passer so they had an offense where they ran the ball most of the time. It worked well enough for them to make the playoffs, but they knew it wouldn't last (as evidenced by their late-season struggles). That's why they went and got Peyton Manning in free agency. They needed someone who could throw the ball down field.

So explain to me how running the ball virtually every play the first 3 quarters puts Tebow in a position to get more than 157 yards passing a game?
And how is it competent play calling if they run the ball every play the first 3 quarters, put up 7 points or less, and then magically start scoring points once they're forced to open up the offense playing from behind.
They got Peyton Manning because it's Peyton freaking Manning. The 49ers and Titans both had a solid veteran quarterback and a promising rookie waiting in the wings, yet still went full force after Manning.

You credit Tebow for the TD pass in OT vs Pittsburgh like it was some huge feat. He was defending the outside THE WHOLE WAY and Thomas ran a slant. Tebow threw the ball to Thomas 5 yards ahead of him and Thomas ran the rest of the 75 yards with his god given speed.
290 attempts 54.5% 6.40 for Josh Freeman
271 attemps, 46.5% 6.38 for Tim Tebow
46.5%???? Are you kidding me? Blaine Gabbart had 50.5% with the same amount of TD's and 5 more INT's, but yet Blaine Gabbart is that much horrible. I have NEVER seen people want someone to play QB that CANNOT pass the ball......that is until the Tebow supporters come clammoring.
I tell you what, go ahead and put him on the Titans. We'll see how fast you change your tune. I mean, you already have changed it with Locker from what I read a few weeks ago. And he's been in the league 1 year less than Tebow, yet he is statistically a better passer.

Hey, if he's so adamant about this shitty QB getting a starting job, how about you volunteer to want to make him your starting QB? I'll tell you right now, I don't want Tebow anywhere near the startng line up. We already have someone like Tebow. His name is Brad Smtih. I'll give you a hint, he isn't playing QB right now and he has 1 kickoff return for a TD.
