Lions placed Titus Young (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
The Lions are pointing to the knee injury that bothered Young in the first half of the season even though he hasn't used that leg in three weeks. This is merely a procedural move to banish Young and open a roster spot. The tea leaves in Detroit suggest the subversive Young has played his last game for the Lions after sabotaging his own team's offense and losing the trust of his veteran teammates. With his trade value in the tank, Young could be waived in 2013.
Is this even legal? Anyways this is one of the strangest situations I've seen. Lions lose two WRs (Nate Burleson, Ryan Broyles) to IR and yet they still won't give Young a chance. That Mike Thomas trade is proving to be valuable right about now.
