The Cleveland Indians have selected Oregon State center-fielder in the fifth-round of the 2018 MLB draft with the 163rd overall pick.

Steven Kwan has quickly developed into a fan-favorite for Beaver nation. The center-fielder originally was going to walk-on at Cal Poly before Pat Casey offered him a spot at Oregon State. At first he was surprised at the high-level of play and did not have confidence in his own abilities. Kwan quickly developed into one of the premier lead-off hitters in the nation though.

The 5-foot-8 speedster will never be mistaken for a power-hitter (although he did just start a game against LSU with a lead-off homer), but he’s got everything you want from a guy at the top of the order. He also is fantastic defensively and has great range in center-field.
