To be honest, week two didn’t tell us a whole lot about the SEC. Much of the conference simply held serve this past weekend, but a couple of teams made a statement. None bigger than the Georgia Bulldogs, who went up to South Bend and beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Georgia moved all the way up to the No. 2 spot in ESPN’s weekly SEC rankings because of that win. Anytime you can go get a quality win against a ranked opponent on the road, it’s impressive. Especially out of conference. Georgia didn’t dominate in any fashion, but they were able to find a way at the end.
The Auburn Tigers fell from No. 2 to No. 4 after an admirable defensive performance at Clemson. Jarrett Stidham and the offense only mustered six points though. Few thought that offense would be the issue on the plains this season.
LSU held firm at No.
