Seahawks Safety ‘Back Running’ As Rehab Steps Up
The Rehab of an NFL player is always something to watch for during an off-season. This Monday saw the Seahawks receive a boost with one of their key guys on that trail. Free Safety Earl Thomas posting on Instagram an update on his rehab process.
The post shows him running on a anti-gravity treadmill. It comes after a weekend post showing him working out with a trainer, but this, as Thomas states, is his 1st day back running since the injury he suffered against Carolina.
The injury occurred on a nasty collision with fellow safety Kam Chancellor. Thomas got hurt making the archetypal ‘ET’ play as he flew to make a play on the ball.
The injury was the first serious one of the former Longhorn’s glittering, short career so far. A week before had seen him miss his first start of his career in a loss at Tampa Bay.
Following the injury the Seahawks secondary and defensive unit slipped from their usual stingy perch, alot of it pointed to as the absence of the all-world talent of Thomas.
His rehab, for such an emotional player has come with few dramas. He tweeted that he was mulling retirement in the initial aftermath of the injury. But soon stepped away from that by seasons end. Reaffirming his commitent to his teammates and love of the game.
Today’s post on social media follows on from a post of him watching over 2017 draft prospects.
His retirement talk a forgotten hump. Something which now seems to be a way off. Now the work ethic which has seen Thomas reach the pinnacle of the game is now being put into getting back on the field with his ‘brothers’ in September!
Now to find out just what that contraption he is running in is and how I get hold of one!
