The Ravens are picking up CB Brandon Carr’s option, per source. So he’ll be back. Team didn’t want to leave itself thin at cornerback.— Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiecsun) March 13, 2018

This move should not come as a surprise, as general manager Ozzie Newsome stated during his press-conference at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine that the team needs to have six cornerbacks.
Brandon Carr, Jimmy Smith, Marlon Humphrey, Tavon Young, Maurice Canady, Robertson Daniel and Jaylen Hill are all under contract for the 2018 season. In addition, Stanley Jean-Baptiste is an exclusive-rights free agent.
With some uncertainty at cornerback, the Ravens opted to keep Carr, who is a proven, reliable veteran.
