The Green Bay Packers are releasing veteran wide receiver Jordy Nelson. After missing out on the top free agent receivers, the Ravens should pursue him.
Nelson, 32, is coming off of a down year in which he only had 482 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 53 receptions. The year before, however, he posted 1,257 yards and a whopping 14 touchdowns on 97 receptions.
His regression in 2017 has been cited as many things. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was injured and missed most of the season. Losing possibly the best quarterback in the NFL will obviously hurt the offense as a whole, not just Nelson. Others attribute it to his age and diminishing speed.
Still, the Ravens missed out on the more desirable free agent wide receivers and now have to search the remains for a decent player.
