247 Sports released a new rankings update today, and two Purdue commits made substantial moves up the rankings.
First off, George Karlaftis moved up from a 4* to a 5* after a dominating the camp circuit this summer. 247 has Karlaftis rated as the 9th best overall player in the nation, the best strong side defensive end in the nation, and the best player in Indiana.
I want everyone to stop and reread the above paragraph….now do it again…and again…and now, once more. Just a few short years ago, Purdue was struggling to land a top 10 player in Indiana, and now they’ve got a top 10 player in the country (according to 247). Having a top 10 player on board, in and of itself, is amazing, but the ancillary benefits of having a top 10 player in the nation helping recruit other stud players to your program is incredible.
