The New England pass rush was disappointing against the Jaguars. The New England Patriots have made a roster move to address the weak pass rushing position and as a potential short-term fix as rookie EDGE Deatrich Wise deals with his head injury.
The Patriots have signed EDGE Keionta Davis and have released DB Dwayne Thomas per ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
Davis is a 6’3, 270 pound pass rusher with impressive 4.73s 40 yard dash speed. The NFL Draft Diamonds scouting report of Davis is full of praise and indicates that Davis won his battle against Alabama OT Cam Robinson. Robinson lined up for the Jaguars on Thursday night and won his battles against the Patriots pass rushers all evening.
Davis recorded 31 career sacks for UT-Chattanooga, the second-most in school history, including a First Team All-American season as a senior with 10.5 sacks.
