On Sunday, the Carolina Panthers announced the release of 11 players. Among the cuts was 2012 second-round draft pick and former New York Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill.

After spending two seasons in New York, Hill signed on to the Panthers’ practice squad prior to the start of the 2014 regular season. Despite rumblings that he was in line to play a starting role in the Carolina offense in 2015, multiple knee injuries–including a torn ACL last summer–have slowed Hill down considerably.

The cuts also included:

  • LB Jared Barber
  • WR Avius Capers
  • TE Braxton Deaver
  • G Reese Dismukes
  • DT Ray Drew
  • OT David Foucault
  • DE Tom Lally
  • C Matt Masifilo
  • WR Miles Shuler
  • OT Willie Smith

The Panthers now must part ways with four more players before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline to reach the 75-man limit for the upcoming week.
