For the sixth week in a row the Green Bay Packers will be without there franchise quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. Matt Flynn will attempt to outgun Tony Romo and the Cowboys in Jerry’s World.

Keys to the Game and Things to Watch.

The Packers ground game will have to establish themselves early and often in this one. There is no way Matt Flynn is going to outgun Tony Romo at home. Eddie Lacy is dealing with a banged up ankle and won’t be a 100 percent, but, against this Cowboys defense that will be without Sean Lee, Lacy could be 20 percent and still run for 100+ yards. Eddie Lacy is an absolute gamer and he knows the season is on the line. Look for him to get his 20+ touches and go well over 100+ total yards. Coach McCarthy will try to avoid making it a shoot out, so look for him to get James Starks a handful of carries as well.

David Bakhtiari vs DeMarcus Ware. Bakhtiari is having a stellar rookie season. He hasn’t been great, but, he’s played about as well as you’d expect a fourth round pick to play in his rookie season. He’s done fairly well against some of the premeire pass rushers in the league. This week he takes on one of the best pass rushers of all time in DeMarcus Ware. Ware has struggled this season, but, he’s still dangerous and this matchup will play a huge factor in deciding the outcome of the game.

Dez Bryant vs Sam Shields/Tramon Williams. The Packers have struggled against top notch wide receivers, hell they’ve struggled against mediocre receievers this year. Dez Bryant could be in for a big game as he has the abiliity to take an eight yard slant into an 60 yard touchdown. Look for Dom Capers to use both Shields and Williams in coverage against Dez with Morgan Burnett TRYING to help out over the top.

Matt Flynn has to be more decisive. The Packers have given up 12 sacks in the past two weeks, but, a lot of that’s on Flynn not getting rid of the ball quick enough. Flynn needs to get the ball out of his hands quickly and into the hands of the Packers playmakers and let them go to work against a very, very bad Dallas defense.

The Packers defense. The Packers defense played their best half of football in the second half last week against the Atlanta Falcons. They forced two turnovers, forced back to back three and outs and gave up zero points. Nobody is expecting them to keep the Cowboys off the board, but, they do need to make timely plays and get off the field on third down.

Prediction-The Packers will put up a hell of a fight, but, I just don’t see them beating Romo and the Cowboys in Dallas where they are 5-1. For how bad the Cowboys defense is, the Packers defense can look just as bad. If Aaron Rodgers was playing, there is no doubt that the Packers would likely walk out of Dallas with a victory. Without him however, they won’t be able to muster up enough points. Give me the Cowboys 27-23.
