21 days! Exactly three weeks from today, we’ll be celebrating the return of Penn State football. In case James Franklin didn’t repeat it enough times for you: Akron will be the season opening opponent, which means for the second straight year, PSU will open the season against a MAC team.
Ironically enough, the person we’re honoring today, Amani Oruwariye, had the highlight of his career against another MAC opponent in Kent State. With PSU heading into the locker room at halftime nursing a 16-13 lead, Amani came up with a critical pick-six to open the second half to light a fire under the team’s collective behinds and give PSU a little breathing room going forward, as the Lions would go on to win, 33-13.

Here’s to hoping we see more of this from Amani in 2017.
