On the heels of the University of Texas announcing a home-and-home series with Alabama in 2022-23, Ohio State confirmed that the previously announced set of games between OSU and UT scheduled for those years had been pushed back to 2025-26. An opponent (or opponents) has not yet been announced to take the place of those high-profile games in ‘22-’23.
Ohio State will travel to Austin, Texas for the game on Aug. 30, 2025, while the Longhorns will come to Columbus on Sept. 5, 2026. Currently, Texas is coached by former Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman; whether he or OSU’s Urban Meyer are still coaching at their respective schools in 2025 is anyone’s guess.
Currently the only non-conference opponent scheduled for the Buckeyes in 2022 and 2023 is Notre Dame, who will host OSU in ‘22, and then will come Columbus in 2023.
