Ethan Westbrook said the tattoo under his left eye was so that he could never return to a normal job.
But pending an investigation, there is no guarantee he will return to his current job as the Los Angeles Rams defensive end.
Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reported the District Attorney of Sacramento County made the decision not to file charges against Westbrooks.
Sacramento County District Atty declined to file charges against Rams’ Ethan Westbrooks, “pending further investigation” spokesperson said.

On March 5, Westbrooks was taken into custody after police responded to a call regarding a dispute over child custody, ESPN reports. Westbrooks , 26, was arrested, but released the following day from the Sacramento County Jail. As of now, no charges have been filed against Westbrooks.
Police said they found injuries to the upper body to the mother of a child Westbrooks fathered. The injuries were said to be non-life threatening, and were said to have occurred during the domestic dispute.
The Rams said they were aware of the “very serious incident”, but have said little else on the matter.
As for the investigation, no other details have been released by police.
Westbrooks has three children with three different mothers, and police have not said which child or mother is at the center of the incident.
