This Patriots star could soon be featured on a movie screen near you.

Reports swirling around indicate that New England Patriots star cornerback and two-time Super Bowl champion Malcolm Butler will have his “rags to riches” story told through a movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Butler’s life rights along with his agent, Derek Simpson, were recently purchased by Daniel Levin. Levin is widely known for the movie Lion for which he is nominated for Best Director.

His film about the undrafted free agent out of West Alabama will be titled The Secondary.

The film will follow Butler’s early beginnings working at Popeyes and his agent securing him a tryout with the Patriots. The film will also include Butler’s interception of Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson in the final seconds of Super Bowl XLIX. That iconic play secured New England’s fourth Super Bowl title, what was their first in the past 10 years.

The Secondary is still in its early stages. Details are currently minimal but this should definitely be an inspiring film with the likes of Rudy and Remember the Titans.

What a journey so far for Butler who is now a two-time world champion. The 26-year-old is due for a new contract and a big pay day this offseason. Now his life will be hitting the big screen.
