On Tuesday evening, the third version of the College Football Playoff rankings were released. These rankings are the ones that matter from here on out, as the teams who play for a National Championship in the College Football Playoff are determined by this set of rankings.
Entering today’s announcement, the Hurricanes were ranked 2nd in the Coaches Poll and 2nd in the AP Poll. At 9-0, the Canes are 1 of just 4 teams Nationally with an undefeated record to this point of the season (Alabama, Wisconsin, and UCF being the other 3 undefeated teams).
For their efforts and following a huge 41-8 blowout, dismantling, embarrassing, humbling win over previously 3rd ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Hurricanes moved up to 3rd in this week’s College Football Playoff Rankings.
