On Wednesday night, the Pro Football Spot staff put together their second Twitter mock draft of the 2016 draft season with #PFSMockDraft2, and I had the duty of selecting for the Detroit Lions at No. 16.

The Lions have a handful of critical needs this offseason – chief among them, the offensive and defensive lines. The offensive side underperforms while the defensive side is thin, lacking depth. But then Detroit also has this massive hole to fill where a Transformer once stood – that of Calvin Johnson, AKA “Megatron”.

Yes, the Lions have Golden Tate, and /nfl-draft/scouting-reports-database/2016-draft-prospects/wide-receiver/laquon-treadwell-2016-nfl-draft-scouting-report-r15/” rel=””>Laquon Treadwell.

Defensive tackle /nfl-draft/scouting-reports-database/2016-draft-prospects/offensive-tackle/taylor-decker-2016-nfl-draft-scouting-report-r6/” rel=””>Taylor Decker were quite enticing, but at the same time,

“The Lions still have needs on the offensive and defensive lines, but Laquon Treadwell is too good of a prospect to pass up on at No. 16. The Lions were able to bring in Marvin Jones to pair with Golden Tate, but neither are a true No. 1 receiver like Treadwell can be. It would also allow for the Lions to spread their offense out even more, being able to put other players like Eric Ebron and Ameer Abdullah wherever they choose. Remember, the draft is more than just one round, so Detroit can continue filling their roster throughout.”
