The Keenan Allen we have all been waiting for finally showed his face during the 2017 season. The Bolts hadn’t seen a wide receiver perform that dominantly in quite some time so it’s not surprising to see PFF bring up the fact that Allen shattered all previous highs in fantasy points for a Chargers WR1 over the last 10 years.
A small note which plays into the “what if?” category is that Allen was the Bolts’ WR1 in 2015 even though he only in seven full games before being injured against the Ravens in their eighth game of the season. Could you imagine if he was able to finish out that tear he was on? If you want to stretch it out over the length of a 16-game season, we can simply double his point total from eight games (164) and get a whopping 328 points, almost 50 more than his total from last year.
Absolutely insane.
