Jaylon Smith is ready to finally tackle being a Dallas Cowboy.
…see what we did there?
All humor aside, sophomore linebacker Jaylon Smith joined the team this week for offseason workouts. During this portion of offseason workouts, Smith will be spending the next few weeks working with strength and conditioning coaches before hitting the field to work through the easiest parts of the Dallas Cowboys playbook. Check him out running with fellow linebacker Sean Lee and helping a team mate adjust his equipment:

With the NFL draft eight days away, this is Smith’s final opportunity to remind the Cowboys why they drafted him in the second round in the 2016 draft. It’s been wildly speculated that Dallas will draft a pass rusher or heavily to their secondary. Smith will have to earn his spot on the roster like every other defensive player. Although the Cowboys used an early second round pick on Smith, at this stage of the game coaches are loyal to no one, and Smith will need to prove his value as the days pass by. Until then, he’s showing that he’s ready to put in the work necessary.
