With his contract up and back issues keeping him out all of last season, Sebastian Janikowski’s career in Oakland was expected to be done. Raiders brass has now notified him of that, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Raiders informed kicker Sebastian Janikowski today that they do not plan to bring him back for the 2018 season, per source. An 18-year run with Raiders comes to an end.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) February 14, 2018

It was an anticlimactic ending for the Raiders all-time leading scorer. The soon-to-be 40-year-old would get no farewell tour as you might expect of a player who spent his entire 17-year NFL career with the same team.
The 2000 17th overall pick out of Florida State was drafted while Jon Gruden was head coach.
