Making the NBA is a huge accomplishment but it can be quickly derailed by injuries and when it does, things can change quickly.
We’ve seen that this off-season as three fine players have struggled to find new contracts – first DeMarcus Cousins, then Isaiah Thomas and most importantly to Duke fans, Jabari Parker.
Cousins blew out an Achilles tendon, Thomas has had hip issues and Parker has had repeated ACL problems.
Cousins signed a one-year, $5.3 million dollar contract with the Golden State Warriors. Thomas has found a home with Denver for the veteran’s minimum of $2.2 million – also a one year contract.
And for his part Parker, who has shown great promise and worked hard to overcome his knee problems, is still looking.
