Going into the season all eyes were on returning slot receivers Renard Bell, Jamire Calvin and Kyle Sweet as well as the unexpected return of Robert Lewis. But a new name has entered the conversation. A little over a year ago I did a comparison of incoming freshman Calvin and Travell Harris. I gave the highly touted recruit Calvin the edge, but it was lot closer than I expected to see. Seriously, click on that link and watch his high school highlights and you’ll wonder how we didn’t see this coming. The fan base didn’t get much of a look at Harris as a freshman, but boy has he showed his sleeper potential as a sophomore in the passing game and especially on special teams.
Finally the Cougars have a home run hitter at the kick return position again as we saw Harris take one back 100 yards against Eastern for WSU’s first kick return for a touchdown in two years.
