Gareon Conley had something to prove when he landed in Indianapolis last week for the NFL Scouting Combine.

Conley has spent the season in the shadow of former teammates Malik Hooker and Marshon Lattimore. Both of whom are considered top-10 picks in next month’s NFL Draft. But after today’s showing at the combine, Conley shows he belongs in the first round.

At 6’0″ and 195 pounds, Gereon has the ideal size you want for an NFL cornerback. However, scouts were concerned if his size would slow him down. His second 40 time of 4.4 put those doubts to rest.

The 4.4 was good enough to put Conley 11th among cornerbacks. His performance today put several scouts on notice. He showed just how fast he is rising up draft boards.

This year’s cornerback class is considered to be extremely deep, and Conley’s performance today showed just that.

His 37″ vertical jump today was good for 7th and he has exceptional hands in coverage as well.

Gareon Conley might not go in the top 15 picks next month, but whoever takes him is getting a Week 1 starter.
