The Gamecocks earned their first series sweep of the season on Saturday, beating Princeton in both games of a doubleheader.
In the first game, South Carolina scored first, taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning thanks to an LT Tolbert homer. The Gamecocks added a couple more runs in the third inning. Noah Campbell doubled with one out, then came home when TJ Hopkins followed with a double of his own. Hopkins then scored on a Madison Stokes base hit, making it 3-0 USC.
The Tigers ended the shutout in the fourth inning, making the score 3-1, but the Gamecocks answered by scoring a run in the bottom of the inning. Jonah Bride doubled to start things off, and later came home on a double by Chris Cullen to make it 4-1. South Carolina added another run in the fifth inning.
