In the 2017 Big Game, our Cal Bears went up against Heisman candidate Bryce Love and the Stanford Cardinal. On paper, this should’ve been a big advantage for Stanford, but the Bears’ front-seven acquitted themselves very well, destroying blocks and beating the Cardinal at their own game until Stanford implemented some second-half adjustments, which forced our secondary players to come into the box as run defenders.
