The Baltimore Ravens are expected to officially sign John Brown and Ryan Grant once free agency opens on Wednesday at 4:00 pm ET. In a two-part series, I will showcase what each player could bring to Baltimore’s offense. Starting with Brown, if he can stay healthy, he could have a rather large role with the Ravens.
In four seasons, Brown has missed eight regular seasons games. His most successful year came during the 2015 season, in which he recorded 65 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. It is worth noting, his career average yards per reception is 14.5.
According to Fox Sports, Brown only had one drop on 55 targets last season. However, he had a very poor catch percentage of 38.2%. In 2015, Brown had five drops on 101 targets, but a solid catch percentage of 64.4%.
Simply put, Brown is a deep threat, who can take the top off of a defense.
