We heard over the weekend that the Titans were shopping Derrick Henry at the trade deadline. That sent a pretty clear message that they were ready to move in a different direction with the run game. Henry just hasn’t been able to get it going this year. Some of it is on him, and some of it is on the offensive line, but whatever the case it was pretty clear heading into last night’s game that Dion Lewis would be taking over as the feature back.
And that is exactly what happened when the Titans took the field on Monday night in Dallas. Lewis out-snapped Henry 59-14 and out-touched Henry 23 to 8.
The preseason debate about which back would do what in this offense seems like ancient history at this point. Who you wanted to own in fantasy football was a hot button topic throughout draft season.
