The Green Bay Packers’ playoff hopes hang in the balance as they await the results from CT scan of Aaron Rodgers’ shoulder. According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the team expects a decision on his availability to come Tuesday night.
Rodgers broke his collarbone back in Week 6 and had surgery performed soon thereafter to repair the damage. As such, the Packers don’t expect his shoulder to have fully healed at this point in the recovery process. However, due to the nature of Rodgers’ surgery — the procedure involved multiple plates and 13 screws to stabilize the bone — his shoulder doesn’t need to have completely recovered in order to receive medical clearance. As such, Green Bay’s medical staff must determine if Rodgers’ shoulder has healed enough to absorb the hits expected from an NFL game.
