There was a lot made of the match-up in this game between Stephon Gilmore and Corey Davis. Coming into this game Gilmore had allowed just 20 catches for 223 yards on 48 targets through nine games. Those numbers came when matched up against guys like Davante Adams, Allen Robinson and Sammy Watkins. People probably won’t spend much time pointing to Gilmore’s coverage numbers after yesterday:
Corey Davis saw a shadow from Stephon Gilmore on 82% of his routes and caught 6-of-8 balls for 98 yards and score against him. This performance shouldn’t be understated. Gilmore was one of the toughest matchups in the league entering the week.— Jeff Ratcliffe (@JeffRatcliffe) November 12, 2018
That doesn’t include the DPI that was called on Gilmore and another one he got away with.
