After moving on from Frank Gore this offseason, it looked like Marlon Mack was going to be the surefire lead back heading into 2018. However, the rest of the Colts’ offseason moves may have taken a bite out of his potential touches next year.
Indianapolis hired Frank Reich to be their new head coach, and his history suggests he likes to employ the running back by committee philosophy. He’s backed that up in some of his comments this offseason.
If you owned any of the Eagles’ running backs in fantasy last season, you know just how difficult it is to predict who will be the lead back in a given week. I’d expect that trend to continue in Indianapolis during Reich’s tenure.
The Colts also added some talent to their backfield to support Reich’s philosophy of feeding multiple backs.
