NFL Network plans to carry 15 preseason games next month, the league announced on Thursday afternoon. That block will include the Kansas City Chiefs’ third preseason game against the Bears in Chicago at Noon on August 25. This will be the Chiefs’ only nationally televised game of the preseason.
This is somewhat interesting because in the past, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has used the third preseason game as a final dress rehearsal for the regular season.
I thus anticipate Patrick Mahomes and the starting offenses and defenses to get two to three quarters of action on the national stage. Reid often gives the team’s most important players Week 4 of the preseason off.
In addition, another storyline (if you could call it that in the preseason) is Reid taking on former Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy for the first time as the Bears’ head coach.
