Charles Woodson is unquestionably one of the best players to ever play in the NFL, it’s simply inarguable. The guy did everything you could ever ask a defensive back to do with his amazing ability to punch the football out of players arms for fumbles, his 65 interceptions with 11 returned for touchdowns, and his pass rush and run stopping ability. Woodson was an absolute Swiss Army knife for the Oakland Raiders and the Green Bay Packers throughout his entire 17 year career.
It’s no surprise then that when given the opportunity to vote on trying to create the best 50 man roster you could create from the modern era (starting from 1967) of NFL football, fans have of course voted Woodson among the ranks. It would be a travesty to not include him on such a list, so it’s a good thing he wasn’t excluded on Pro Football Weekly’s “Team for the Ages” contest.
