Boston College and Temple will face off for the first time since 2004, when both teams were in the Big East. Things have changed quite a bit for both teams since then, the Big East is gone, and Temple is part of the MAC Conference now, while Boston College as we all know left the BE for the ACC. All in all, Boston College is 28-7 against Temple, with a 5 game winning streak. Their last loss came in 1999, when Tom O’Brien’s Eagles fell to the Owls in Philadelphia.
But let’s take a look at their last three games:
2004: Boston College 34 Temple 17: In both BC’s and Temple’s final year in the Big East (Owls were getting kicked out) the Eagles rode the legs of L.V Whitworth for 151 yards and two touchdowns. The #19 Eagles looked well on their way to their first ever BCS bowl when Paul Peterson broke his hand late in the second quarter.
