According to Ian Rapoport, the Texans have committed to Benardrick McKinney to be their long-term starting middle linebacker, granting him a 5-year, $50 million extension.

McKinney was entering the final season of his rookie contract and is now signed on to play for the Texans until the end of the 2023 season. Of his $50 million contract, $21 million is fully guaranteed and it keeps one of the best Texans defenders in Battle Red for a long time.
McKinney has started every game in the last two seasons and has recorded 8.0 sacks over that two-year period.
