Bradley Roby, CB, Denver Broncos
The title alone has a nice ring to it doesn't it?
The 1st round of the draft was full of surprises, the writing staff sat together watching players fall who we liked higher, and we saw some players reached for. In Roby's case, I think he went at the perfect moment. Widely considered a top 20 prospect, Roby slipped a bit due to inconsistent play as well as questionable tackling. The Broncos had no problem with either of these issues as both are easily correctable.
Bradley has good size at 5'11" weighing 194 lbs. To go along with that size he has sub 4.4 speed in the 40 yard dash, great quickness and fluid hips. He has great recovery speed and is a physical and aggressive tackler although he is also an inconsistent tackler.
Roby's time at Ohio State is now part of ancient history. He is in the perfect situation to reach his full potential as the current Broncos coaching staff have helped to get the most out of players like Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie, Terrance Knighton, and Robert Ayers. Roby immediately enters competition with Kayvon Webster (one which he has the talent to win) to start opposite Aqib Talib allowing Chris Harris to fully heal and not rush his recovery and to focus on the Slot.
