Have the Miami Dolphins found their Running Back?

Coming into the season Miami had two young unproven running backs fighting for the starting gig in Miami. A second round pick out of Kansas, Daniel Thomas and fourth round pick from last year Lamar Miller.
Early on in the season it was a concern that neither of these two running backs had the potential to be Miami's long term running back. Against the Browns, Miller averaged .3 yards a carry.

Since then Miller has been on fire, averaging at least 4.8 yards a carry in every game except one.

Overall Miller is averaging 4.8 yards a carry to go along with his two touchdowns.

Thursday against the Bengals was Miller's best game yet, rushing for a career high 105 yards on 16 carries (6.6 yards a carry).

Miller does have some work to do with his field vision, Miller lost a fumble on a play he should have cut up field for a touchdown. Since it was Lamar's first fumble we will let it slide.

The one confusing thing is Miller is yet to get 20 carries in a single game.

This is where Miami's coaching staff has me scratching my head, Miller has the numbers of a solid, if not good running back and a quarterback who needs some help.

Miami can become a run first team that feeds off play action, but its a matter of Mike Sherman calling the right plays.

The Cincinnati game was the first game Miami used Lamar Miller properly, but it's time he takes some of Daniel Thomas's carries as well. Thomas has proven he can't be the ground and pound running back Jeff Ireland thought he traded up for in 2009. He has averaged less then 4.0 yards a carry in 5 out of 8 games this season.

It's time for Lamar Miller to become the featured back in Miami, he has done everything to prove that he could be the guy. He deserves atleast 20 "Touches" a game but its up to Mike Sherman, but his play calling has been questionable to this point to say the least.

I think we can all agree that Thomas is terrible at the very least.  Miller's earned the shot to be the guy.

he has okay games, he just doesn't deserve more then ten touches in a game... He has a averaged over 5 yards twice but he is just stopping Lamar's growth at this point

I've questioned Sherman's play-calling since he first stepped foot in Miami.. I'd love to see him hit the road if he doesn't get it together by season's end. I've seen some improvement incorporating the run more often, but I completely agree that Miller needs to see 20+ touches a game.
