If you were an Alabama opponent the last two seasons, there were many Tide weapons that gave you pause: Whether it was being pinned in deep by the punting game, the inability to run the ball no matter how you schemed, protecting your quarterback, getting torched by the mismatch of O.J. Howard versus anyone in your secondary — the Tide had as many ways to hurt you as there were ways to win a game.
But, perhaps nothing was as feared as fighting tooth-and-nail for every yard, fighting desperately to maintain competitiveness, only to see all momentum stolen from you as the Tide’s non-offensive scoring machine tears your heart out. It can’t be anticipated; it can’t be schemed against; it can only destroy you.
It was a devastating body blow that the Crimson Tide landed with great frequency too, scoring a total of 8 times in 2015.
