Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Titans are interested in the services of free agent running back Dion Lewis. The Dolphins, Jets, Giants, Texans, Colts and 49ers are also interested according to Florio. It should come as no surprise that Lewis is getting a ton of interest. He is a 28-year old running back who hasn’t been run into the ground early in his NFL career. Lewis proved last last season that he can be a 3-down running back.
With that many teams interested, Lewis is going to get PAID. I would much rather see the Titans address their running back need with a cheap veteran, like Danny Woodhead, and a guy in the draft than tie up a ton of money in Lewis. He’s a good player, but there is no reason to give a running back a ton of money.
Lewis has been in the league for 7 years with the Eagles and Patriots.
