Specialists Are Set For Titans

The specialists for the Tennessee Titans are perhaps the easiest group to predict of any on the roster.  It also brings to a close our projections for the 2017 team roster.

This group is also sometimes forgotten unless a mistake is made, but they will also be a critical part of the team and any success this season.

The three players that will fill these roles this season are familiar names to Titans fans.

Ryan Succop will once again be the kicker for the Titans. Entering his fourth season with the team, he had a memorable campaign in 2016.

Succop connected on 22 of 24 field goal attempts last season (91.9%) and 39 of 41 point after conversions, one of which was blocked.

He was a perfect 4 of 4 from 20-29 yards, 6 of 6 from 30-39 yards, 8 of 8 from 40-49 yards and 3-5 from 50 or more with a season long of 53 yards.

Succop does not possess the leagues strongest leg, but accuracy, especially in the clutch  can not be overstated.

His biggest moment in 2016  came in the clutch and cold of Kansas City as he connected on the game winner in the Titans 19-17 come from behind win. It was his longest field goal of the season to seal the victory.

Brett Kern will handle the punting duties for the Titans once again. It will be his 11th season with the team.

Kern has been consistently good throughout his career and was once again last season.

In 16 games last season, Kern punted 77 times for a 44.2 yard average and a net of 38.6. He did not allow a block and 32 of his punts died inside the 20 and only  four touch backs.

Only 36 of his punts were returned for 347 yards and two touchdowns.

Long Snapper

Beau Brinkley returns to the long snapper role for his sixth NFL season.  He is a consistent performer and near perfect on every snap.
