The Buffalo Bills announced today they have traded wide receiver Sammy Watkins to the Los Angeles Rams. In the trade, the Bills acquired corner back E.J. Gaines and a 2018 second round pick from the Rams. The Rams acquired Watkins and a 2018 sixth-round pick.

Now, if Watkins can stay healthy, he has numbers like he did in the Bills first preseason game. Watkins looked as sharp as ever, by persistently creating separation at the intermediate level. Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor targeted Watkins on 5-of-8 passes and Watkins accounted for 4-of-5 Taylor’s completions for 39 yards.

With Watkins going to the Rams, this could be trouble for wide receiver Tavon Austin. For fantasy purposes, Watkins doesn’t take much of a hit going from one run-dominant offense to another. He’ll be Jared Goff’s top receiver as a strong WR2 with upside for more if Goff takes steps forward.
